Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl the singer and guitarist of the world’s renowned grunge band- Nirvana decided to form a new band. This is because his previous band had been broken due to the death of its lead singer Kurt Cobain. In the year 1995 David Grohl formed the band called the Foo Fighters in Seattle Washington along with a bass guitarist Nate Mendel, drummer William Goldsmith and guitarist Pat Smear.

The band’s first album was named Foo Fighters and this was followed by the second album called The Color and The Shape. After the second album was released two of the band members planned to leave the band and go one their ways. They were the Guitarist Pat Smear who was then replaced by Franz Stahl and the drummer William Goldsmith who was also replaced by Taylor Hawkins.

Following this the band started to work for their third album which they had named it as ‘There is Nothing to Lose’. During the preparation for several songs there were some disagreements between Dave Grohl and the new guitarist Franz Stahl. Therefore due to a distressing and tight situation Dave had to fire him from the band. The rest of the members of the band continued their work on the album and released their third album which had many singles in it. One among the singles ‘ Learn to Fly ‘ ranked high in the US Hot list.

The fourth release of the band dint release soon after the third and took a longtime. Thie was due to the fact that each member had got committed to different projects. The band leader David Grohl was not pleased with their fourth album ‘one by one’ and also conveyed his displeasure for several songs in the album.

Due to this Grohl decided that their next album must be a one for which people should remember them and hence took his time along with his band members on the next album. Thus the album ‘In your Honor’ proved to be a hit and this was their second most successful album. The album had many hit songs like ‘Best of You’, ‘Miracle’ and ‘Resolve’.
