South Pacific Tickets

  Now, in a new Broadway revival, the famous award winning musical South Pacific is back.  This preview has been playing for practically sold out houses since its first debut in 2008.  This cast of around forty is being led by David Pittsinger an Laura Osnes.  It will be directed by the Tony award winner Bartlett Sher.  This drama is deeply felt and is a great portrayal of Americans that were later stationed in a different culture during wartime. 

  This musical is just as relevent and great today as it was in 1949.  It has been around for a very long time and has always had great success.  It has been considered as one of the all time best musicals in all of history.  Some of the songs played in South Pacific have become known standards around the world.  Some of these like “Im in love with a Wonderful Guy,” “Happy Talk,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Bali Ha’I”.

  This Broadway has been nominated for various awards.  Of the ten that it was nominated for it won all ten of them!  Some of these awards were for Best Libretto, Best Score, and Best Musical.  This musical now holds the record for the only musical to have one all four of the Tony Awards for ating.  Because it has been such a hit that it has had many different tours and has had many different revivals through time.
